Direct Report

An advanced profile for apps built to work with the Nexus Remote directly. Instead of acting like a keyboard, the remote tells the app exactly which button was pressed, and the app decides what to do with it.

When to use it: you’re using an app that specifically supports the remote’s direct feed.

How it works: every button tells the app which button was pressed, and whether it was a short press or a long press.

What you do

Only use this when the app’s instructions ask for Direct Report. The button actions depend on that app.

Button map

Press	Sent to the app
Any button — short press	That button’s number, marked as a short press
Any button — long press	That button’s number, marked as a long press

Select it: On the remote, Page 1 · Button 9. Or pick it in the app.
