Alphanumeric
Type letters and words the way you used to text on an old phone keypad — no extra hardware, just your thumb.
When to use it: entering a name, a word, or any free text into your app.
How it works: each numbered button holds a small group of letters. Tap to step through them — one tap for the first letter, two for the second, three for the third — like old-school phone texting. Hold on your final press to capitalize that letter; you’ll feel a single click when the capital registers. One more tap past the last letter sends the button’s number.
What you do
Section titled “What you do”Count the taps to the letter you want:
- h → Button 3, tap twice (g, then h)
- H → Button 3, tap once, then hold on the second press
- 9 → Button 9, tap three times (y, z, then 9)
Pause before the next letter — moving on commits the one you just spelled.
